Want people around the state—and around the world—to know about the impact your work is having? EESC’s Public Issues Education team gives voice to the latest news, discoveries, and impacts made by OSU Extension and Agricultural Experiment Station faculty. We write stories in partnership with you and put your work into layman’s terms that the public can understand, which is the basis of impact reporting. We also are on the front line when emerging issues or emergency information needs to be communicated.
We get the word about your work out through:
- News releases distributed to reporters and editors around the state and nation
- Oregon's Agricultural Progress magazine features
- Impact stories, including through Statewides: Our Impact
- Social media, including OSU Extension's Twitter and Facebook
Even the most knowledgeable experts need help explaining their work to non-experts. That’s why we offer media training to help you learn how to talk to reporters, legislators, and community members about the importance of your work.
How it works
Contact us to submit a news or story tip. We’ll help you craft your message, define the audience, and develop the best strategy for telling your story. We can help you connect to the public and lawmakers in your community and beyond. If we need photos or videos to get your message across, we’ll bring in EESC’s multimedia team.
